ECZEMA TREATMENT
Atopic eczema, contact eczema, seborrheic eczema, dermatitis
While atopic eczema, contact eczema and seborrheic eczema manifest themselves in the same way (red patches, itching, irritation, etc.), they require different treatments and prevention: it is therefore essential to know the origin of your eczema in order to be able to combat it!

ATOPIC DERMATITIS / ECZEMA
Skin is called atopic because it does not play its role as a natural barrier. More permeable than normal skin, people with eczema or atopic dermatitis develop a strong sensitivity to all allergens present in the environment. The skin dries out, forms red patches, itches and pieces of skin come off (these are called scales).
Choose care products that moisturize, soothe irritations and protect against allergens. Dermatologists also advise choosing products with few ingredients to limit the risk of reactions.

ECZEMA / CONTACT DERMATITIS: NICKEL
In the case of contact eczema, the skin simply reacts to a very specific allergen. Also, as soon as the skin comes into contact with this allergen or irritant, it will develop a hyper-localized reaction. If contact eczema is favored by atopic skin, it can also develop completely independently.
After identifying the allergen responsible for the reaction, in particular through skin tests (or patch tests), it will be necessary to succeed in preserving your skin as much as possible from any contact with this allergen, which can often be difficult. In the context of a Nickel (or Chromium or Cobalt) allergy, Skintifique has developed a range of products to limit the absorption of these metals by the skin, thus preventing the risk of contact eczema.

SEBORRHEIC DERMITITIS / ECZEMA
Seborrheic eczema, or seborrheic dermatitis, is characterized by red patches and whitish scales. They are most often located on the face or scalp, and more specifically on areas rich in sebum. The skin can then itch strongly and scratching can cause lesions that aggravate the situation.
If its origin is multifactorial, sebum and Malassezia yeasts, naturally present in the skin flora, play a role in its development.
Also, gently cleanse the affected areas (micellar water, alcohol-free and fragrance-free), calm irritations and soothe the skin with a moisturizer, and protect it from external aggressions by reforming your skin's hydrolipidic barrier with a protective cream. Since seborrheic eczema develops in flare-ups, to prevent its reappearance, it is recommended to adopt a skin hygiene regimen based on gentle products without irritating ingredients.

DYSHIDROTIC ECZEMA / DYSHIDROSIS
One form of eczema, dyshidrotic eczema, only affects the hands in 80% of cases, otherwise the hands and feet. Burning and itching sensations may be felt, the plaques having the shape of vesicles filled with fluid, like blisters. The rupture of these vesicles following scratching leads to the appearance of scabs and scales.
The causes of dyshidrosis can be multiple: mycoses, excessive sweating, atopic skin, etc. It can also be of allergic origin: allergy to Nickel, Chrome or Cobalt, gloves, shoes, professional chemicals, or cosmetic products. A patch test should then be considered.
While cortisone-based creams are often prescribed by doctors, they can have side effects in the medium/long term. Also, emollient and moisturizing creams can be excellent substitute products. Applying a protective cream that helps the skin fulfill its barrier role can complete this routine. Finally, the skin must be regularly cleaned with gentle products, especially in the event of heavy perspiration.
